Christmas 2000.

Kelani and I were really surprised to receive Furbies from our father. These weren't just any Furbies ... they were babies. The more they talked to each other, the more words and language skills they would gain. They needed to be fed. And they were very noisy. They even came with a dictionary, so we could understand the Furby-isms they were chattering.

I was living in the dorms at the time, and when I brought mine home my friends threatened to throw it down the trash chute. Luckily, it survived, and to this day is sitting on a shelf in my Dad's study. I do regret that I never played with it enough for it to grow up, maybe some day, if I ever have a lot of spare time and patience on my hands!
