Quilting Progress

Yesterday I came home early from work because Shane got his wisdom teeth out, so I came to keep him company and take care of him. I also got a lot of work done on my quilt, as we watched tv and he slept.

I am making the Wedding Quilt that I found on the Purl Bee blog, via this blog I always love. I love the layout, I love the white contrast, I love Molly's story about how she was inspired to design it. This quilt is a perfect way to showcase all the fabrics I've been adoring and hoarding for years ... and yes, I am making it for myself.

So here are a few preliminary photos of what the front will look like. Mel helped me change around a few fabrics after I took these photos, so these are not the final order, but it gives you an idea.

I decided instead of doing a solid backing, I am going to make a second quilt for the back, so it'll be a double sided quilt. Perfect for the season changes. We'll see how long the project takes me! So far, for the back, I am looking at blues, purples, and greys, with a few browns and greens. We'll see what develops.

Such pretty fabrics! I love it.

When I was pregnant I felt inspired to make a baby quilt. But then I remembered "oh yeah. I hate sewing. Hate it. And suck at it too." I really admire people who make beautiful things with their hands.

Post some pics when it's finished. Or before.
