Sunday morning we woke up and had our last breakfast at the hotel, and then went on a walk around the neighborhood before gathering all our stuff together for the train ride to Vienna.
The train ride to Vienna was just a few hours, and we shared our cubbie with a Swedish guy about my age who had just spent a week doing orienteering - he was interesting, worked for a cell phone company trouble shooting problems, and traveled around a lot for work.
We got to our hotel in Vienna around 4 in the afternoon. The cab driver from the train station to the hotel was very excited to point out various landmarks around Vienna, although none of us spoke German, so although most of what he tried to tell us was lost, we did understand a few landmarks.
After checking in we went walking in search of food - and ended up wandering around the district we were staying in, Leopoldstadt, for quiet awhile, with no luck. Finally we decided to cross the canal, and head towards the main square. There were many more restaurants and places open across the canal, and we had no trouble finding a place to eat.
After dinner we went to Stephansplatz, which is one of the main squares in Vienna. We went inside St. Stephen's Cathedral - or Stephandom, which is a really beautiful church, inside and out. Of course they are doing work on it, so we couldn't see the full facade. I got some good photos of it near the end of our time in Vienna, during a sunny morning.
