At the end of May, my mom and I traveled to Wisconsin to visit her Uncle Max, and his wife Kay. I hadn't met them since I was a toddler - Max remembers pushing me in my stroller, and that I couldn't talk. They are both amazing, with so many great stories, and a 65 year marriage. I adore them and hope to visit again soon.
We started the trip in Milwaukee, where my mother went to graduate school.

We spent a day walking around, saw the
Milwaukee Art Museum, designed by
Calatrava, which is just beautiful. We walked up to it when it was closed, went inside to see it open, and then walked out to see it open. It's so cool! Here it is closed:

And from inside, I love this group of school children, and the blue is just so incredible:

And here it is open:

We went and walked around near University of Wisconsin and Downer Street. My mom used to go to this grocery store, Sendik's, and I think this is the most charming True Value I've ever seen.

We ended the day back on Downer Street, where we had dinner outside and saw The Brothers Bloom in a lovely old theater. It's a pretty funny movie, I'd recommend it.

That museum totally reminds me of elements from like 4 different libraries. so now I'm thinking of it as the library museum.
