Christmas Morning

As is tradition in my family, my sister and I arrive early on Christmas morning at my parents house, drink hot tea and coffee, usually eat french toast made by our father, and leisurely open presents. It's my favorite holiday tradition.

Some of these Dala horses belonged to my Grandparents, and my mother has added some to the collection over the years. I adore them. The ginkgoes on the flags should look familiar ... I screened them for the holidays last year, and used the same images for the calendar this year.

I love my mom's stocking:
And I love her as well: I silk screened this scarf for my sister, using a pattern from Lotta Jansdotter's Lotta Prints book:
I hope she'll wear it often!
I also gave Kelani some note pads I had made, and paper covered match boxes. I love how they all turned out. So satisfying.

the Christmas morning scene pictures are beautiful. Love the diversity of artwork in the room!

thank you! their house looks like an art gallery! it's so full of lovely items to look at, and whenever I go over there (which is often) my parents have added something new!
