Savage Detectives

Anyone out there read Savage Detectives? I have been making my way through it, rather slowly. There are parts of it I adore and just want more of. I have another 150 pages left, I am nearly done with the "Savage Detectives" section of it, and I am interested to see how it wraps up. Or if it wraps up?

I know I will miss some of the characters once I finish it, and maybe that is why I am drawing it out. I plan on reading 2666, which is longer, and sounds more involved.
