The first time we met Nigel was about a month ago, as he ran up our pergola and chased squirrels around our yard. I was pretty sure I knew where he lived because I had seen him sitting in the front window of the house, two doors down. He got in our cat door a few times - I had found him under our bed, and on the couch. He seemed like a fearless little cat, but I escorted him outside each time.Until ... we found a post on Craigslist two weeks ago. The neighbors were giving him away. Shane immediately walked over there and told them we wanted him - and to make a long story short, he moved in the next day.
The first week was hard because we were keeping him inside so he wouldn't run back to their house. Also, our eldest cat was really, really unhappy with the new family member, and was hissing and growling much more than usual. It's subsided a bit now, so that I've even witnessed them on the bed at the same time, without much fuss or hiss. And now that Nigel can go outside, he is a much happier kitty.
He's about 9 months old, and we think his coloring is the prettiest. I realize I've posted far too many photos of him - but he's so photogenic that it's hard not to! I'll try not to turn the entire blog in to an "I <3 Nigel" blog. But I am a little obsessed with him ... and it has been raining a lot ... so ... there's not a whole lot else going on!
Shane really wants an entire Cat Empire, but I think we'll stop with three.
