garden fail #2

While planting peas (sugar and snap) we decided to make our own trellis using garden twine and bamboo poles. We just started it and thought we'd do more as the peas grew ... until I looked out to the garden a few mornings later, and saw a squirrel gathering up the twine. Pulling all our twine in to a little mass to take back to build it's nest ... that night when we went out to look, it was clear that the squirrel took at least half of our twine. Totally made me laugh.

So, back to the drawing board, we ended up with a nylon netting made especially for pea trellising. I hope this deters the squirrels!

your garden is much more of a success than mine is! it looks beautiful. mine is currently a pile of dirt and some boards on the porch.

Got me wondering ... where do possums live? Do they build nests? Good luck with the garden! :)

Ahahaha, I just noticed these were called "Garden Fail" posts. I was so distracted by the prettiness of your pictures I didn't notice. Well if at first you don't succeed...
